Few months back, WhatsApp launched a Web client that can be run through your browser to use WhatsApp on your desktop, but now users running Windows 8 or Mac OS 10.9 and above can use the new desktop app that mirrors WhatsApp messages from a user’s mobile device. Nothing too revolutionary here, then, but there's still plenty to like: the app integrates properly with your operating system, launches when your system starts, displays native notifications, supports all the features you need - one-to-one and group chats, photo and video sharing, location sharing - and is generally simple and straightforward to use. Launch WhatsApp Desktop, scan the QR code it displays with your mobile (Settings > WhatsApp Web menu), and the program will automatically sync your contacts and settings.Ī few seconds later your current chats are displayed, and you're able to carry on the conversations as usual. This does at least make setup very easy, because there's almost nothing to do. You can't install the program just on a couple of PCs, for instance- it's purely an extension of your mobile app, a native version of WhatsApp Web. The desktop edition isn't designed to be used separately. You can use up to four linked devices while your phone is offline, but linked devices will be automatically logged out if you haven’t used your phone in 14 days.WhatsApp is a free PC and Mac version of the popular messaging app. Also, launch WhatsApp in your Smartphone and go to settings. Once, the application is installed, Launch it. Now, Click on Download for Mac OS X 10.10 and higher option to start the download. Then, Open Whatsapp Official site and click on download. Once linked, you’ll be able to send and receive messages and make WhatsApp calls with end-to-end encryption on each linked device. Installing WhatsApp on Mac To Install Web Version of Whatsapp in your Mac, Launch Safari First. Regardless of the platform you use the new WhatsApp desktop app on, you’ll still need to link it to a smartphone account that’s linked to a phone number. 9to5Mac reports that the early beta of the new WhatsApp desktop app is significantly faster than the current release. The MacOS app is being tested in a closed beta and will arrive as a MacOS “Universal app” meaning it will be based on the iPhone version of the WhatsApp app and will run natively on Apple silicon laptops. WhatsApp will also be releasing a native MacOS app, though it is still under development. These apps will also allow you to keep chats alive from your keyboard when your phone is offline. Bringing the darling app of millions of users to desktop, WhatsMac doesnt do anything else but to bring the WhatsApp Web Client interface on your Macs. Although the app won’t really look different on the surface, the native app will run better, use fewer resources, and should launch quicker than before. WhatsApp is launching a native Windows app, which no longer uses the old web-based backend and has been updated to be run natively on Windows. This is done through WhatsApp Web via a browser, or a web-based WhatsApp desktop app. WhatsApp lets users link a desktop computer so they can continue to make and receive calls and send messages without needing to have your smartphone nearby.
